FIOC announces its 2026 student scholarship for eligible students who demonstrate academic achievement, character, leadership, and connection to Iranian culture.

Dear FIOC members,

FIOC announces the 2026 student scholarship. All necessary documents are available for download on this page.

The scholarship will be awarded as a single lump-sum payment directly to the recipient or recipients toward tuition and books only.

Eligibility

Recipients must meet all of the following requirements:

  1. Must be a FIOC member for the last two years.
  2. At least one parent must be of Iranian descent.
  3. Must demonstrate interest in Iranian culture.
  4. Must meet academic requirements.
  5. Must have legal immigration status.

Selection criteria

Applications are reviewed by the Scholarship Evaluating Committee.

Applicants will be judged according to, but not limited to, their overall secondary-school record in academic and extracurricular activities, scholastic standing, qualities of character, and leadership.

Requirements and important dates

  • January 31, 2026: Completed application must be postmarked by this date.
  • 2025 and 2026: Applicant or family must have FIOC membership for both consecutive years. The 2026 membership application and fee must accompany the scholarship application.
  • By the due date: High-school transcript and SAT or ACT scores must be mailed to FIOC.
  • March of each year: Award recipients will be announced at the Iranian New Year celebration and Nowruz party.
  • Within 10 days of notification: Recipients must notify the Scholarship Board Committee whether they accept or decline the scholarship.
  • Fall term: Recipients must enter their chosen college or university, maintain full-time status, and provide Fall registration. Exceptions will be reviewed by the Scholarship Board Committee.
  • October of each year: The award will be presented during the Mehregan celebration.

Additional materials include a one-page résumé, community-service log, signed application, and a personal interview if requested by the Scholarship Evaluating Committee.
